New Product Development – Assistant Engineer

Role: As an NPD Member and core team member of the Unit IV, you are responsible to Develop and review design prototypes, perform test, and finalize product design to facilitate mass production through effective utilization of resources of the company. The company is looking at ambitious growth targets and is counting on you to deliver the daily results, and at the same time build the teams, processes, capabilities, and capacities to deliver the business results.

Key Performance Area:

• Conduct feasibility study within the stipulated time on receipt of the RFQ.
• Work with the marketing team to prepare costing and update BOM.
• Analyze new components, materials, and technologies to evaluate functionalities for all new product development.
• Prepare comprehensive project plans with technical objectives and detailed cost estimates.
• On receipt of ECN from the customer, review feasibility and update BOM.
• CFT Meeting for the ECN and review WIP.
• Business realization for new parts of existing customers (excluding parts replacing current business)
• Business realization from new customers (excluding parts replacing current business)
• Analyze product cost and prepare schedule plans for effective implementation of projects.
• Prepare and approve product design and test plans, review design and recommend adequate changes to the approved models before actual role out of new products.
• Approve prototypes of new designs, conduct performance analysis of prototypes, and ensure assemblage of products follow company’s quality parameters.
• Document records for all project proposal and associated activities.
• Ensure to deliver first time right products or parts, eliminate rework to improve quality standards and reduce cost.
• Standardize drawings wherever required.
• SAP input must be done for part number creation within the timeline.
• Aim and achieve accurate BOM.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with a focus on technical excellence, responsiveness to customers and innovative thinking is required.
• Effective communication with the team and the customer.
• Able to fix design issues and find a resolution as quickly as possible.
• Effective team player.
• Experience in 3D Modelling Software like AutoCAD or SolidWorks is a must.
