Safety Officer – Manufacturing Plant (LZPH011)

Key Performance Area:

• Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, 1948, and applicable safety rules
• Implement and monitor plant safety policies, SOPs, and work permit systems
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Identify unsafe acts and conditions; recommend corrective and preventive actions
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher training programs
• Monitor the use of PPE and ensure adequate availability
• Maintain statutory safety records, registers, and reports
• Coordinate fire safety systems, mock drills, and emergency response plans
• Monitor contractor safety and ensure compliance with plant safety norms
• Support the implementation of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
• Liaise with government safety inspectors and external auditors
• Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives
